LAMBDA is moving

Hintergrundgrafik

From the Brixental Valley to the world: Within four years, LAMBDA Heat Pumps has grown from a promising startup into a global player. Now the company is expanding its physical footprint as well: As sales continue to surge, LAMBDA recently moved into a larger production facility in Kirchbichl.

Heat pumps instead of oil or gas heating: Interest in alternative heating methods has skyrocketed, particularly since the energy crisis and the rise in natural gas prices. LAMBDA founders Florian Entleitner and Florian Fuchs have also felt this trend, setting new standards in energy efficiency with their air-source heat pumps.

Demand remains strong, production rises rapidly

LAMBDA expects to double the number of heat pumps sold in 2023 next year, resulting in an annual production of at least 7,000 units—and as many as 15,000 units the following year, all “made in Tyrol.” However, this enormous growth is pushing the capacity at the Brixen im Thale site to its limits, which is why the company decided to relocate to Kirchbichl, about 30 minutes away. At Perlmooserstraße 2, Florian Entleitner and Florian Fuchs were able to find a suitable production facility to meet the skyrocketing demand. The large warehouse and the three-story office building offer enough space to bring planning, administration, sales, and production together under one roof. Compared to the old location, the new premises, with a total of 3,200 square meters of production space, offer around 2,400 square meters more workspace than before. The office space has also more than doubled, increasing from the current 200 square meters to a total of 500 square meters—expandable to as much as 1,200 square meters.

Fully on track for growth

In terms of sales figures, the Tyrolean manufacturer has seen a rapid surge in a very short time. While a total of 1,000 LAMBDA heat pumps were produced in all of 2022, the 3,000th heat pump was delivered in July 2023. By comparison: in 2021, two years after the company was founded, annual production stood at just 400 units. Deliveries are now made not only to German-speaking countries but throughout Europe. The company’s numerous retail partners are located across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and South Tyrol.

The team is also set to expand

The full order books point to an extremely promising outlook. To be even better prepared for the future, the company is constantly looking to hire new employees. The team, which currently consists of 50 people, is expected to grow to around 90 employees by next year. Whether in production, warehouse logistics, shipping, administration, technical support, or controlling—from department heads to office staff—“Interested candidates are welcome to contact us at any time; we look forward to every application!” emphasize Florian Entleitner and Florian Fuchs. What makes LAMBDA heat pumps so special?

LAMBDA develops and manufactures highly efficient heat pumps that operate using natural refrigerants. By utilizing a specific fluid dynamics process (3K process), LAMBDA’s air-source heat pumps achieve a heat transfer rate from the air to the cooling process that is four to six times higher than that of other products on the market. As a result, LAMBDA air-source heat pumps consume approximately 25 percent less electricity.
